Incorporating Our Marks

University departments wishing to use any of the University’s registered names, logos or marks on apparel, equipment, signage or any other materials must use a University-approved vendor, available with CLC’s Licensee Search.

Being listed in 49erMart doesn’t guarantee that the vendor is licensed to produce University marks.

Faculty and staff may use marks in literature, research proposals and other academic instances with advance approval by Licensing.

Designing Merch

Departments should use their approved department logo, and designs must be submitted as a request before purchasing and production.

Original artwork should follow University standards for logos, color, etc.

Brand Standards

Athletic and University marks may not be combined with each other or with any outside vendors, sponsors or partners.*

University trademarks and logos must be current and unaltered.

*Certain exceptions might be made for groups promoting specific event or sponsor logos.

Understanding Royalties

Depending on the product and its intended use, royalties may apply to branded merchandise.

Royalty Requirements

Departments may not sell t-shirts or promotional items outside of department membership, including to the general public and over the Internet, unless given explicit permission.

How to use the CLC Licensee Search

Items approved for internal use (i.e. a uniform) should be ordered from vendors designated as an "Internal Vendor." Other items should be ordered from standard vendors.

Search for Licensed Vendors

Choose your desired product from the product category dropdown list.

Search for “Charlotte” in the school dropdown list and select “University of North Carolina at Charlotte.”

Browse the alphabetical list of vendors who can create your desired Charlotte merchandise.

Please note that vendors designated as “Internal Only” are permitted only for internal campus use.
