Incorporating Our Marks

University departments wishing to use any of the University’s registered names, logos or marks on apparel, equipment, signage or any other materials must order through Purchasing. Purchasing will then forward the information to Licensing and obtain permission.

Faculty and staff may use marks in literature, research proposals and other academic instances with advance approval by Licensing.

Designing Merch

Departments should use their approved department logo, and designs must be submitted as a request before purchasing and production.

Original artwork should follow University standards for logos, color, etc.
Athletic and University marks may not be combined with each other or with any outside vendors, sponsors or partners.*

*Certain exceptions might be made for groups promoting specific event or sponsor logos.

Purchasing Orders

If approved for production, merchandise must be ordered through a licensed vendor. Depending on the item or its purpose, royalties may be required. The Purchasing Department will assist in submitting the request to Licensing.

Departments may not sell t-shirts or promotional items outside of department membership, including to the general public and over the Internet, unless given explicit permission.
